Executing SmartSelect
For all components except pipes, selection occurs on nodes with case modes set to "Design." The software indexes calculated specifications against data that closely matches available manufacturer specifications in the database.
After successfully calculating a hydraulic model, SmartSelect uses defined criteria to narrow down available options in the database.
Pipe
- Economic Velocity (Generaux / Peters) - User Defined Velocity - User Defined Hydraulic Gradient
Centrifugal Pump
- Selection Basis (Trimmed Impeller / Variable Speed / Standard) - Pump Type - Frequency - Minimum Efficiency
Control Valve
- Valve Style - Opening Range
To perform SmartSelect:
Solve the hydraulic model
Engage SmartSelect panel
Select applicable component
Define selection criteria
Click "Run SmartSelect" button
Analyze software results once Smartselect calculation has been completed
Clicking "Push to Model" applies the identified and ticked manufacturer specification in the model.
Closing the SmartSelect window without clicking “Push to Model” disregards the calculation results.
