Charts in FlowDesigner can be either of the following:
Insight Chart
Component Chart
Both of which are flowsheet modelling objects which can be placed anywhere within the flowsheet area.
Insight charts are generated using calculation data involving different components.
There are five (5) insight charts types that can generated in FlowDesigner:
Flowpath - HGL / EGL
Valve Authority
Variation
Fluid Properties
Pump Composite Curves (HOLD)
Similar to components, insight charts can be added through the flowsheet object palette.
When placed on a flowsheet, the interaction between the chart and the data to be presented can be made using the Input pane. This also means that defining chart data would require a chart object to be selected in the flowsheet.
The first requirement when creating a chart is to select which among the types above is applicable. Once selected, additional fields appear on the input pane to further define the type selection:
Like flowsheet tables, component charts can be added on the flowsheet by checking the tick box found in the input pane of any of the components below:
Pump
Control Valve
Pipe (HOLD)
