Variations cater for running multiple calculations in a hydraulic model by changing the value of an input definition over a defined range of values and steps.
Variations can be accessed through the App mode dropdown.
Once set, the Variations panel appears where it contains a summary list of the different components under variation and the different input fields necessary to perform the operation.
Set App mode to "Variations".
Select the relevant hydraulic model or scenario through which "Variation" will be performed.
Open the "Variations" panel (If closed or hidden).
Select the component in the hydraulic model or in the Variations summary list
In the Variable to change field of the variation panel, select the data to be varied.
Define the maximum and minimum numerical limits of the selected variable.
Define the calculation step to be applied in the variation calculation.
Define units of measure for the variable to be changed.
Ensure the component in the variations summary list is selected.
Click "Solve".
Below is a quick demo on how variation is executed:
Due to multiple calculations involved, the results table slightly takes a different form so to enable access to all variation results.
As multiple calculation results are involved, the results appearing on the results, property table or insight charts is reflective of the selected component in the Variations summary.
A play button is available to automatically slide through different calculation points of the variation.
The slider is present on the top of the results table can be manually dragged at the different points of the variation.
Note that the graduation of calculation points indicated in the slider is based on the defined variation calculation steps.
