Scenario panel in FlowDesigner expedite analysis of hydraulic models by simultaneously implementing input definition changes from a base or parent model to their children. .
The base model is located at the top most list of the scenario pane. This hydraulic model is the only scenario in the list that can not be renamed.
When a scenario in the panel is selected and the add child button is activated, a new scenario will be created as "child" to the selected scenario acting as its "parent".
This will appear on the scenario panel once a branch name has been assigned. The new scenario or "child" is generally a derivative of its "parent" model and thus inheriting the same modelling information from the latter.
The "parent-child" relationship of scenarios cause implementation of change on input data on the parent model, to trickle down the same change to its children.
When a change is implemented to a scenario, and consequently, to its children, the red sync icon appears on the left side of the list. This indicates that a calculation needs to be made to incorporate the changes in data for the solution process.
However, note that changing a particular input data on the child will disable inheritance of changes on that specific data from the parent or base scenario.
Similar to typical hydraulic models, hitting the calculate button would initiate the solver to find a solution to the active or selected scenario. Once calculation is complete, the green check box appears on the left side of the scenario name to indicate solver has completed its task.
Selecting a scenario and clicking the delete scenario button, removes the selection and its corresponding children in the list.
